The best movie, I ever seen of real life Military actions and events during the action 10 stars out of 5 stars A MUST BUY !!
was so surprised this movie came onto amazon so quick I would have thought be after the November election. The story behind the movie Most all know,I will not go into it or try not too I bought this movie about week ago and have viewed at least 10 x's .Looking for a life time of viewing, I would not call this a "WAR Movie" but yet it is .I would not call it a drama but yet it is ,or a documentary on events true to what happened.I can say the opening scene set the mood for the rest of the movie Tense suspense driven film action yes ,Lots of gun fire yes .I have a family member who after 15 years in SF ,intelligence, mainly in charge of the south America parts of the world . He was in both the Desert war actions of Bush era along with Afghanistan. One night talking on the phone from the latter ,I explosion was herd in back ground ,says "Bobby don't worry I am off duty unless a mortar hits the roof directly above me I am fine" . Next day He calls to tell 4 of his team/ was killed guarding a bank official. Since they could not get to the one guy they blew up the Bank 50+ and 4 of his team members assigned to guarding him were Killed. So for me this film is personal, not just a movie I take it personally when you go deeper into the movies story, Knowing their was a cover up to Get the President re elected at the time this happened . That a American general was relieved of the African theater for refusal to stand down the rescue mission that was later scrubbed. By civilians who never served the Military ,or even now some 30 thousand emails missing 'Labeled Personal" By the person responsible for the ambassadors and others death. emails that clearly were showing a pattern of self interest and Business money concerns to be made by a person who was employed by a family foundation .The white house rejected his applications for work in the state department several times since could not pass a background check . Sorry getting Political ,The movie never says the names of the people who deserted them .I say as a movie and no other outside issues it is 4.8 out of 5 stars . If you want Knowing the actions that took effect after the real life events and seeing the movie 10 out of 5 stars Hits the events /time frames right onpicture of the real leader of the attack not some protesters as the Obama/Clinton /Rice were stating

So well done on every level. Such a fitting tribute to these men, and those who were lost. The performance and cinematography is incredible. Gripping like you were actually there watching it all go down.

This is an amazing movie that is a must watch. In this movie you find out what really happened IN BENGHAZI. It's about a group of amazing men (3 Marines, 1 Army Ranger, and two Navy Seals) who took a stand and decided to help their fellow Americans who were about to be killed at a diplomatic outpost compound. Watching this movie, you really come to love these heroes, and come to really appreciate the bravery and heroism of these fine men. I highly recommend watching this true story. I have seen it three times already and have gone out of my way to watch interviews by some of these heroes including speeches by Kris Tanto Paronto (the real life Army Ranger from the movie).

I highly recommend getting the 4K edition of this movie because you get the 4K disc, digital code that works, and blu ray that contains fantastic features. One of the features has the GRS team (the heroes in this real life story) and you get to meet three of these heroes. Another feature is about the making of the movie which was fantastic to watch. Michael Bay literally hired real life Navy Seals for consultation and training of the actors for this movie - this shows you Michael's dedication to doing this movie right - and it really shows. Another feature has the premiere of this movie in a mega stadium in Texas. Another feature is in memory of those who lost their lives on September 11 and September 12, 2012. I had tears in my eyes watching this. Most of these men probably could have been saved, if not all, if only help was sent. Why was help not sent????

I think that every American should watch this movie. For me, the military was always in the back of my mind, but not after watching this movie. We not only need the military, but the military really do represent the best of America. And I do realize that the 6 security officers (contractors) are/were veterans, but they still held onto military beliefs of honor, bravery, and sacrifice, and as such, if you want to learn and watch about honor, bravery, and sacrifice, watch this movie!

God bless the Military and Veterans! You have my love, respect, gratitude, and prayers!

I also highly recommend other true story inspired military movies including: Black Hawk Down and Lone Survivor.

Michael Bay’s film is about the killing of the US ambassador in Benghazi in 2012. This is based on a real event. Four American lives were lost to a violent mob. The film is exciting and well produced. Bay is a great action director. The film has an Alamo feel to it. The men who experienced this event corroborated the events depicted in the film.

The CIA hired six combat veterans to protect their secret base in Benghazi. It is run by over twenty effete and arrogant Harvard and Yale graduates. The CIA chief (David Costabile) does not like his protectors and does not believe they are necessary, so there is tension on the American side. The vets have no idea what they are fighting for, but they are depicted as heroes. They do the job because they need the money and they also seem to enjoy the camaraderie and the warrior lifestyle.

Libya was in a state of anarchy after the US overthrew its leader, Colonel Gaddafi in 2011. Islamists were killing gays and Libya saw the return of slave markets. The supposedly smart people running US foreign policy assumed that Libya, like any Muslim country, could be Americanized and its people were just yearning for democracy. It quickly turned into a nightmare. The film shows armed mobs on the streets of Benghazi who want to kill Americans. The country is still engaged in a civil war today.

The film questions American interventionism, which is not what I would have expected. The film does not explain why the Benghazi outpost had to fight so long without backup. We are shown talking heads in Washington but it is never explained why the requests for support are ignored. The film gives the impression that the men and women on the ground were let down by Washington. Hillary Clinton was the Secretary of State at the time and the removal of Gaddafi was allegedly her idea. She was criticized by Republicans in Congress for screwing up the evacuation and causing the death of the ambassador. The film never mentions her role.

The film is surprising scornful of foreign intervention and suggests that the foreign policy elite does not understand the Muslim world. The film was criticized in a Rolling Stone review, who interpreted its anti-war message as a criticism of Hillary Clinton, God forbid. As someone who came of age politically in the 1970s, it seems confusing that we are receiving anti-war messages from a commercial director like Michael Bay, while Rolling Stone, which used to be anti-establishment now backs the warmongers. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie.

This review is for the movie 13 Hours (13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi). This was one of my most gripping films that I have watched in a while. Part of it is just the movie itself, and part of it is this based on a real event. I don't want to give away an spoilers. This movie is based on the attack that happened in Benghazi in 2012. It is a very thought provoking, suspenseful, and emotion evoking film. The cast, scenes, and directing were all excellent. This was a film that I wish I had seen years ago.
